Managing the Prerequisite Override for vaccine groups
An Override will override a primary series for a specified vaccine group at a specified age. This will allow a user to enter in boosters or adult doses even if the primary doses are not entered for that vaccine. This would be used in situations where the client states they have had or have completed a vaccine series but there is no record to validate this.
Select the Schedule you would like to edit as stated in the Editing a Series within an Existing or New Schedule description.
At the bottom of the Schedule Information screen in the Additional Options table, click the Manage Override button.
A new window will be displayed where you can add or delete Prerequisite Overrides for the selected vaccine group.
To add an Override, click the Add Override button, then at the next screen, select the Vaccine group you would like to add the Override to from the 'Vaccine Group' pick list and click the Save button.
In order to activate the override you must add on the dose of the vaccine in question. Once the vaccine is in place it will display "NOT VALID", until you manually switch on the override. Click on the edit immuinzation
button for the vaccine from the Immunization History screen. Here in the edit screen you can manually switch on the override. From the pick list 'Disregard Primary Series' choose the "Yes" option, then click the save button to return to the history screen. Now the vaccine should be valid, and it will have diregarded the primary series. This can be done on a client by client basis.
To disable the override for a particular client simply edit the immunization where the override is set to disregard the primary series.
To delete an Override from the whole tracking schedule, checkmark the Override you would like to delete then click the Remove Selected button.
